Re: Big V

There are so many things that will lead your kids astray these days. I was raised on the farm and didn't get into town all that much, thus I didn't get into much trouble. Realizing that I wrote a book titled, "Things My Father Taught Me - Lessons in Life," my Father told me upon the birth of my son... "To be a man, a boy has to see a man." I took it to heart. If my son wanted to play Little League baseball, I found a way to be a volunteer on his team. If he played Rocket football, I did the same. I ended up becoming a Rocket football coach for nine years!

After he went on to play Varsity football, he brought his team mates down to work with my 12-14 year kids. You can't even imagine the smiles they had when most of the starting varsity team came down to work with them. The varsity team would have them on the field during their pre-game warm ups and it made my boys step a little higher. A few years later, most of that team became 'the varsity.' Again, 'to be a man, a boy must see a man.' If your kids can't parent right, you must step in and show the boy the things he needs to know to be a good man.

Big V

That sounds like a great, no, epic trip with your grandson Johnny.  I also have a grandson Levi who is 7,  and has a troubled life because of his lousy parents,  and I need to do more things with him.  Perhaps you have inspired me here.  I was thinking of taking him to the Circus in a couple of weeks,  and that is exactly what I should do.  Have a great trip,  and be safe!
