- Go to Saturday Post... just some thoughts.
I have a tendency of waking up thinking it is a different day of the work. Thankfully, I make the realization before I would be late to work or go into work.
I did not watch the opening ceremonies to the Summer Olympics. I heard there were a lot of commercials.

I also watched the opening ceremony, and thought it was okay, with a bit too much 'feel-good' messaging in it...The Greeks looked fabulous, very elegant! The Americans looked great too! Our Canadians? Sorry, kinda - frumpy...

Hope you and Wiley got some rest today. And I agree with you about the Olympics. Some excellent points you make.

I refused to watch. I can't believe that they leave their population living in poverty then put so much money into a passing show! How could they even have been allowed to hold the activities in a country whose own people are lacking so much of life's basics?

Loved your writing and the Olympics are rather drab as far as the CBC Brodcasting goes. I love you

Here's hoping you and Wiley are feeling rested and cheerful
and that all's right with your world. I can't seem to stir up an interest in the Olympics this year, although I do enjoy the acrobatics...

Hope Wileyfriend is feeling better and you are too, Dear Kabu
Excellent insights about poverty; so tragically and outrageously true!

Sounds as though you are tired Helen, I hope Wiley is not driving at present. It takes time to get over things. At least the weather is not too bad. Weeds grow if nothing else does. What you really need is a raised garden easy to make with a few scaffold planks.Fill it with good soil and it is easy to manage. Of course it would be expensive, but rewarding. I made some years ago but they were too shallow, fortunately a man who puts down gravel instead of lawns brings me the turfs as he would have to pay to dump them. Rotted down they make good loamy compost. I feel rather tired,I think it is the weather a bit thundery, Chin up.
