I love the gymnastics competitions, but there's been so much

danger from outsiders in recent years, it seems like a risky endeavor.

I like your ideas for it a whole lot.

I myself am not into the olympics. With following six sports, something for me has to get cut out.

Kabuiepie-;)~

Great post with some good ideas,I'm just not sure the games should even be continued what with the doping and all but that's only me. I love you.

I don't care to watch them for myself, but I can certainly understand the appeal for so many others.  Wouldn't Rio be a fabulous place to visit?

I always watch the Olympics.  It just seems the thing to do.

Very good article. Yes it is far from what it once was. I am afraid for the contestants because of the utter filth. The games do not bring money to the city. When they came to Atlanta they had so much going on inside the compound they created, other than the games, nobody left the place. The city businesses made nothing on it.

Re: Kabu - oops

Make that "...too much..." Yes, and pros should not qualify to play as and with amateurs.

I agree about the money. Way to much spent. Not to mention the judging scandals. I have always loved the Olympics. I detest the way Yahoo and other websites "spoil" watching the events by telling the winner on their front pages before the broadcast of the event. Which brings me to my other gripe: major TV networks have coverage during prime time, after the fact oftentimes. One must either stream it, or watch sports stations to see the events in real time. I loved it when all the events were broadcast on the major networks in real time. But there is more money made by showing them in prime slots. So no, I won't be watching as much as I used to. LOL!

I guess I'll be watching the spectacle...As far as the Games themselves are concerned, they became corrupted when they began to let professionals participate...I'd like to see a separate Oympics for amateurs, and then I hope they'll admit squash (not just the vegetable, but the game as well, LOL), and I'll be playing for some kind of medal, maybe...

Well money will always be found for projects that excite or are competitive. Or wars. Or dandelions
