- Go to Where’s my ball?
Oh yes - they can be quite persistent when they want 'that one' thing! Each of mine wants whichever ball the other has, even if all 3 balls are the same. Of course! Did Bennie get his ball?

I wonder what became of the favorite ball...I wonder how long this new routine would go if he were to not end up with a ball...It sounds like a plan to get the new blue ball.

Great post! This story reminds me so of Sampson, my GSD of long ago. (I say 'my' because he was attached to me, though he was a family dog.) He also had a favorite toy that went missing. Despite all of his other playtoys, he kept searching and sniffing all over for 'the one,' relentlessly and with increasing frustration. It was evident it would be wise to replace it with one just like the missing one. The scent was familiar enough after a short while, along with the shape and sound, that he accepted it happily. He sqeaked that toy and jumped around in delight, nearly hopping. Hope that Bennie enjoys his new ball.

You are a really good doggy man. If I were a dog, I would want a companion just like you.

If Ben is anything like my son he will know it's not the original (ours was a Rupert Bear soft toy). What a mean mummy trying to give him a new one when he lost the first one.

Let's just hope the new one smells like the previous fave...
Doggie noses are so much more attuned to this important stuff... Crossing my fingers the mission is successful.

This is so well written. I was about to telephone you to go and buy another ball...goodness knows what those that may be listening in might think...but all is well. Ben will be happy soon. We can all relax.
