Yes, about like here ;Kabu, perhaps we are too lenient at times always trying to prove that every man is equal when we know is is a bloody lie. I think the pot simmers and as long as it does not boil over we tolerate it, but there is always the question when!

Absolutely brilliant and truthful post, Dear Kabu! I agree with every word
I just read a news article about a woman who wore a hat that said "America was never great" in response to Trump's slogan of "Make America great again" and she has received ugly racial insults and death threats. Free speech so often triggers hate speech. And you know, America really wasn't and still is not "great" for many Americans - racial prejudices continue to live and to affect people; recent examples abound in police brutality. And life on the reservations for natives is very limiting and poverty stricken by design. Third parties that are seen to threaten the status quo of the uber wealthy and militaristic, war lusting power structures are not allowed. Ralph Nader has written about being shut out of debates and the political system because he was known as a man who holds the interests of the masses first and foremost. I don't feel as though I live in a democracy. It is an oligarchy...

I have always thought of Oz as a great country on a very interesting continent! But I'm not sure it's all that tolerant! You go to jail if you have more than one wife? You don't go to jail in Canada - at least not if you're a Muslim! Then you're allowed four...

Don't be sorry. It did not go on too long. It is refreshing to read the
reasonable point of view on things. Democracy in America is better than it's been painted in the media, and folks are generally more civilized than it might appear on the media - it seems a burning building (or unreasoning drama) make for "better television" than a simple conversation or a rational debate. But it seems we're losing our ability to tell where "the show" ends and common sense ought to take over. Thanks for your post!
