If one of the neighborhood strays took up visiting regularly in my yard, I'd consider it kind of like the squirrels that used to visit regularly. I liked them...

Yes the sun soon gets hot , cannot remember it being so years since. I suppose you could just have an outdoor cat they don't mix with many pets.
