I would say joyous. He made a major impression on the world as evidenced by the fact we are still talking about him four hundred years later. I do not see myself going to see one of his plays this year.

Definitely would and probably will go to one of the plays this year Bill.  I'm pleased that we still put on his plays and read his poetry 400 years later.

So many thoughts. Like those of a miniature book of a play of his that I had/have that went missing... I think of the days when he lived, the people he knew and of whom he knew; I wonder if he was the sole author of the work accredited to him; I think of the actors of the day; and I marvel at how 400 years later, he is still somehow current!

bill loving today's discussion Club and the answers...

several things. Henry 5th my favorite.

The Merchant of Venice that I studied in school and they took us to see on stage so we could understand it better and then I learned and used to recite a passage of verse from the play myself.

The Herb Garden, a play on Shakespeare's latter life.

Shakespeare in Love , the movie

A mid-Summer night's Dream...my son was part of music played for this once.

I could go on.
