I would say it is better to remain unbiased. It used to work, though, for The Weakest Link. Outside of that, I would say it is not necessary.

Personal emotions will out when least expected sometimes even in the entertainment field.  I don't know about should or shouldn't, but it is to be expected now and then.

Personally, I would enjoy an appropriate comment now and then. The neutral talking head often presents as just that. It all depends. What I really hate is when a new anchor disappears from the station and nobody says word one about it!
