Re: Nautikos

Aha, yes! I do thank you, dear Naut, and stand technically corrected and properly informed (LOL.) School children (when I was in school) in the U. S. were taught the literal translation, and all these years I had never considered it to be as you presented! But, of course, it makes more sense than someone looking at a penny, thinking, "I'm holding one out of a whole bunch of these things." As for the guy, what can I say? LOL

RP

LOL, good one. Even if the meaning on the coin, strictly speaking, means 'One out of [being formed from] many', as in 'Many becoming One' - whereas your handsome heart breaker uses it in the sense of 'You're just one of many'...But it's neat...

Re: kasperhoe

You know, that is very insightful of you. I hadn't thought of it from that perspective, but yes, you are on point with that analysis, for sure! Thank you for sharing. :)

Well,  maybe the guy is right. If he is, he's one out of many.

I mean, they are walking among us. We hardly see them, but as soon as they're in action,  you'd know how to identify them. ;-)

Great poem.  Thank you for sharing.

Re: Kabu

Dear Kabu, again, thank you for reminding me that I should have made a notation, which I have now done. Yep, she has been warned.

Re: C_C_T

Thank you for reminding me that I needed to explain. I put a notation on the front. Tell Chumpet it means "one out of many," and is on every U.S. coin.

I looked it up!!!! and she cannot say that she hasn't been warned. lots of fun.

Well not being very well up in Latin RPresta I would have probably written (a curious human) . Yes you should have fun, make us smile, we are all too serious. Well some of us are.  Americans should know what it means, I am not going to tell Chumpet. Be   happy.
