Well I don't suppose there will be a terrible lot of fracking for quite a while. The oversupply of oil is wiping the profit out.Poor old Earth we probably are living in a benign time even though we do not realize it to be so.

If our modern amenities did break, the developed world would go into anarchy. People freak out if their phones are a hair slow.
Fracking has been a bis issue in Maryland, where it occurs in the western part.

I've got to say Wow!!! You took my bit from my old friend Steve
and turned it into a wonderful, if frightening, depth report. I've had a special regard for the brilliant Mr. Hawking because he's beaten the terrible odds against him, and has been able to achieve world renown where many would have quit. And he's done some funny bits on "The Big Bang Theory" which is one of my favorite TV shows because of all the really good science bits the writers plant in the middle of the comedy. I love a guy with a sense of humor.

There are so many points to consider, too many! The fracking is something that humanity could do without, in my mind.

You make it sound pretty bad, but I think it might be even worse.
