It's difficult when one goes unappreciated. Mayhaps everyone could pick a chore to help out...why not a chore jar and everybody draws from it the chores for the day or week?

Every relationship is its own world, with its own rules and realities....many silent understandings becoming unwritten contracts and it sounds like that has happened in your case. It's m whole life. I know that nothing will change unless I decide to do that and I have reasons I don't do that. In the meantime, I vent on here and it helps me. I think it probably does you, too. If you feel happy or content more of the time than not, you are luckier than most. I kind of like the idea of badges, instead of stripes.

Wiley said when I arrived here to rearrange anything I wanted. It is now my home as well as his. Then he said he didn't expect me to come all this way to be a housekeeper...we share the chores. I do the wash and put the clothes away in the draws etc. He keeps the kitchen clean. We both make the bed and tidy around and share the meals. I do the bigger meals and he does all the snacks and coffee etc. Sigh!.
ps I do the garden cos I want to.
