Times are a changing, we do not notice. Perhaps we caught some of the best ones . Be happy and don't try dancing on the table . I still think of you as a girl.

Great post! My favorite New Year's Eve memory was when I was about ten years old and a few neighbors got together in one of the homes. They each brought some food, but the highlight of the evening and of the meal was my Dad cooking breaded fried oysters for everyone. He was a pro at it and they were wonderful and everyone loved them. After eating, the children played Monopoly and pumped the player piano to all of the wonderful old popular songs on the mysterious rolls with little square holes, and everyone sang the good old songs, even my Dad. The final roll was of course Old Lang Syne as the fireworks began outside. No one even noticed that there was no such thing as television.

Kabu
It's nice just to relax and enjoy yourself, especially on the first day of the year! I don't even think beyond the glass in front of me, and the music bathes my soul...

That is neat how you got to New Year's Day at the beach. In my neck of the woods, and now your current neck of the woods, it is a little too chilly for that.
My New Year's are very quiet. Generally, I am asleep when the year changes.

These days we can enjoy the noise & crowds via the TV
and without being bumped into or having a drink spilled on us. Happy New Year!
