Yes! Yes! On such a special day I cannot help but think special thoughts about all my loved ones who have served in the wars. Most of them are no longer with us. I also have loving thoughts of Son #1 who was in the U.S. Navy, Grandson Peter who was a U.S. Marine, Grandson Michael and Grandson Dalton who are serving in the U.S. Army.

Steven Crane wrote that war is kind love. It's an anti-war poem.

Yes as far back as one can remember war has made widows and men maimed for life.
Sadly it has excited young men through the ages and how were they valued?

It is amazing how fast the near decade has gone by.
I honor our veterans as well.

Certainly an important day to remember! And I'm sure most people loathe war - but what do you do if you are being attacked?

It's one of our biggest human flaws: we can't just live and let live.
I can't think of an enterprise as pointless as war, nor one less fruitful. And yes, I do honor those young men and women whose lives were turned upside down because they answered the call to serve... A hero is a hero.

So many wars are unnecessary...
But I too honor those who served and serve with valor. So many veterans are not treated respectfully or right by the very governments who sent them to be in harm's way.. Well on a lighter note, I think you read my mind today, Dear Kabu! I was wondering about the first moments when you and Wiley met in person; how thrilling and maybe in some ways surreal that must have been.

I hate it too. Why can't we all just learn to live together peacefully?
