The whole thing is great, but I really like this verse:

Sometimes the memories come back unbidden.
I did have a love or two as a girl...Nothing of passion, good girls didn't do that.
perhaps is why this one left and I felt the world ended.
He came back...so many years later...I was not interested and he smelled sour...he said I missed my chance then? I just shrugged my shoulders.
