I have had good luck with tulips, until they bloom. The ones along
my front retaining wall seem to attract thugs who knock the blooms off or grab them as they go by. And the squirrels will dig 'em up an eat 'em. I'm beginning to think the little varmints are more pest than pet...

Well I hope you planted them the right way up. A tip if you want them to naturalize plant three times their depth. Beware they can be eaten by squirrels and mice over here so I expect you may be lucky if the ground is frozen. Ha, ha, I am cunning I plant ones that have several flowers on each bulb.
