We were watching an old STAR TREK Next Generation in which one of the main guys was romancing an alluring lady on the Holodeck--a place where computers create the holographic yet physically 'real' illusion of your desire, whether that be a sparring partner, a walk in the woods, or an evening in a New Orleans jazz club. The lady was such an illusion, and as he began to go all... let's say, mushy... I said to Charlie, It's really just the most sophisticated inflatable date ever!

I've read sci fi stories about android lovers and how they could be
programmed to fit one's personal tastes - don't think the idea is all that shocking, considering some of the things folks want to hire others to do for/to them. Years ago nothing tickled me as a writer like shocking the socks off someone - but now I just want to be able to write something real people can relate to.
