That was quite a lovely feast love. It was a natural diet.

I think as one becomes older one has more compassion, but of course there are always those killing for sport and we cannot do much about it. It just shows how wild life has change around here. Once if one saw a wood pigeon it was gone in a flash. It was almost impossible to creep up on one and shoot it. Now they sit on the bird tables like old hens and the younger ones become increasingly tamer.

Fall is in the air. Summer has a little fight left but not much.

mmm, I love peaches too, lol
Your treatment of them sounds delicious and sweet.
And the same with the wild creatures. I also have mixed feelings about hunting. My Dad put a lot of deer meat on the table when I was growing up, but I lost my taste for it later on...

Nicely said, we get deers around our place every now and then beautiful, but mom gets a bit irked cuz they eat flowers from the garden and her hostas. But still, no amount of nuisance could make either of us overlook the fact that they are one of many beautiful creations the Lord has made.

First, I will say "thanks to you, I got hungry for peaches with cream"... lol
And I will also say that I like your view on hunting.

Mama used to make peach ice cream this time of year, and
since we didn't have one of those ice cream churns, she'd make the creamy custard on the stove, mix in the peaches and pour it into ice cube trays & put it in the freezer. I don't know if it was really the perfect ice cream, or if it tasted so good because I was a kid. I'm with you on the hunting issue - if it's for food no problem, but those guys who just want a trophy on their wall turn my stomach.
