Well as men get older they sometimes get more endearing and you are a precious commodity. Good man our Wiley. This does not happen often when men are younger.
I know a man who left his wife as soon as she was diagnosed. I sometimes think of the poor little thing, she had been such a lovely girl. Your Dad was a good man I could tell by the photographs, he had a lot to put up with.
