- Go to Yes CCT. Blanket Sam lived out his life as an over indulged pet...
Very rarely have I seen sheep, most definitely because I have not been around farms that much in my life...Blanket Sam was very interesting to read about.

Great fun! I don't understand how cutting a sheep's tail off would reduce the chance of a fly attack - I would have thought a tail is useful to keep them at least off its rear end...

Oh I would have loved Sam too. When I was designing clothes I had a knitter in Ky who knitted a line of sweaters done in black and grey of Merino Wool. They were beautiful and costly. Yes I could believe it was a truck of money. Sounds like an ideal childhood to me.

Blanket Sam was in the 1% of sheep society, treated to the best life a
human girl could provide. I have worked with alpaca wool and some hand-spun, hand-dyed wool I bought at our local farmer's market - but I'm 90% sure she doesn't raise Merinos... Loved your story and the photo of the old 1920-something truckload of wool.

I love this post. I would have loved him whether he had a tail or not, or whether he had the other thing. They used to do funny things down on the farm to the steers too.

You are absolved, I am quite pleased to learn that he probably got too fat after being seen to. For a sheep it was a happy life. Little lambos do not make it for long. Nonetheless they skip and prance like we do, well you might. I just stand on one leg and meditate. How things changed though, I wonder what the market for wool is like now, It is good insulating material, I wish my loft was lined with it instead of that wretched glass wool. I award you three stars for pet care.
