He was a real character Justi. I think the older men used to feel out of it somewhat and it gave them a real boost to show the grandchildren how things were at the time. Lovely memories.

Once dad bought a bucket of sorghum that had been burned and he didn't know it.  It was totally inedible it seemed to me.   When the syrup was good, we loved it made into thick sorghum butter to eat on our hot biscuits and cornbread.

a total trip into the past ...love it...sort of like listening to my parents talking about when they were kids, and growing up. Now I will be singing songs from the musical Oklahoma...Y' know, the Surrey with the fringe on top LOL.
