Nothing stays the same one day you may feel it is right to buy a cozy small cottage, but I don't think you are ready for it just yet. Actually there is a shortage of small homes here.

Builders want to build as large as they can on expensive land, so older folk are just

sticking to their own house and perhaps modifying it a little.

It is not easy to keep up with many acres especially in your age. Both need to start making your life easier

There always seems to be a catch when it comes to banks...I think the catch nature of the world is why some people are leery of signing up for the car wash club. They somehow think some fee is going to come into effect, or there will be some rule where it is not worth it.

I have often found there is always another housing project to do.

I don't like this post too well.  It's not the writing, it's the idea of it.
Just take it one day at a time.  You'll know what it is time to do when the time is right for it.

Leaving North Camelot? Dreadful thought! But I do see your point...

I've been thinking along these same lines, thinking renting a flat

all on one level with no outdoor maintenance to do would be so much less on my mind, and then I think of packing, moving, settling in, and I sit back down and see what's on TV.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Our house is big and it is old and we are too. Put these together and there are problems. It is too much to care for, I am about to have a yard sale of all yard sales. i have done very well with them here.

Charge the gnomes some rent.

It's such a sad thought, you and Wiley leaving North Camelot... What about maybe selling part of the acreage to The Right Person? Or donating a couple of acres to a conservancy group? Could be a tax advantage in that.
