This reminds me of a wonderful little book called COSMICOMICS
which is by Italo Calvino and is not a comic book. Like your poem, it is magical, and poetic though written in prose. "When we were dinosaurs..." Maybe you can find a copy somewhere.

I too use a stick to keep me from falling over as I walk in the desert and occasionally turn over a rock and find a lonely lizard basking beneath for shade and shelter. Your venture in survival is fascinating as your story is told by the master himself C C. LOve
