Re: CCT,
Usually I can eat what I cook, and by now, I most often like it, too. But there have been dismal failures, too.
I'd send Archie or Arthur or someone down to the nearest fish'n'chips place: they have pans already down, and lots of taters!

Re: Pat,
A former room-mate made something that was essentially a ground beef stew and called it that... Her secret ingredient was a spoonful of sugar: you might not realize you were tasting it, but the slight sweetness did make it delicious!

Ceil I am afraid I would be afraid to start devising dishes, but evidently you like what you cook ,so that's the main objective I would imagine. I just feel like a pan of home made chips, but it is too much trouble to lift the pan off the rack and we have no potatoes.

Your recipe sounds delicious! I often make my own hummus, using chick peas, tahini and a clove or two of garlic as a base, and then add other things. One of my favourites is sun-dried tomatoes, but I also like it with sweet onion, some black olives, a little cumin and a bit of lemon...

My uncle Roy used to call it slum-gullion when Aunt Dot put together
that kind of feast.

I just bought a can of chickpeas to make my own humus....but not tonight. And, I really like to mess around with eggplant and create my own dishes. I ran into a dish today that I really liked. It was made with quinoa, beets and apples sprinkled with roasted sunflower seeds and feta cheese. Can't wait to make my own.
