When my four sons were small, they were terribly fascinated with dinosaurs. Beginning in 1967, we took them to Dinosaur National Monument in Colorado's NW corner and that was the beginning of something that lasted forever. Of course I saw Jurassic Park and read the book. Sis and Sis went to see this one last week and I begged off. LOL. Blood and teeth doesn't do it for me anymore.

Re: FormerStudentIntern.
The great thing about the original movie is that it was really the first time we saw on the Big Screen, believable dinosaurs. And the score by John Williams was so moving and grand...! It also asked an important and meaningful question: Just because we can do something, should we do it?

I enjoyed reading your review of the film. The People Magazine review made note of the shoes as well...It is amazing that twenty-plus years later, people are still very enthused about Jurassic Park.

Re: Annicita,
Actually, they were there to talk about what worked and what didn't or even couldn't in the Jurassic Park movies. They had all seen it, and had things they liked and things they didn't. These are people who love dinosaurs, that's why they are in the profession, and also why they go see the movies.

Did they see the movie and agree with what you thought or didn't bother to "waste" their time?

Re: Naut
They may be silly overall, but I am happy to go along for the ride. Like a roller coaster, it doesn't take you anywhere, and is a lot of fun not getting there!

It's so good to see someone speak of the silliness of these movies! For me, their 'entertainment value' has never been high enough to overcome all the nonsense, so I have never bothered...

I had already decided after enduring Jurassic Park years ago that this one I was giving a miss.
I love the real deal too much and avidly read any new discovery into the past...should have done archeology perhaps.

Thank you for the review Ceil. I suppose it is a job to keep thinking of something different, anyway it was amusing. Did you see that Amazon are now going to pay Authors by the page that is read not by sales as some books are sold and never finished. Evidently some of the best sellers do not have the privilege of being read to completion.
It is going to be a cut throat occupation apparently, keep renovating the doll's houses.
