Tell Poppy not to be sad. Robins may fly eventually from their nests, but more often than not, they will nest in the same group of trees all their lives. Also, Robins are one bird that does not fly too far away, even after they've grown. So, I can almost bet that one day next year, his kiddos will come back.

I had the same situation with hummingbirds nesting outside my entry door. Very strange place to nest. They made it with two babies then one day I came home and they were gone. This is the nature of life and a wonderful experience

It is wonderful to watch birds in action. I would feel sad, too, about their departure.
