Yep, rots of ruck!LOL! No, seriously...you are on the right track but you forgot the key word...habit....everything comes down to habit. It really isn't about managing time because we all have the same amount of it, the sun rises at the same time, etc, etc. So it is a matter of habits like "Do it now...don't turn on the laptop if there is anything to be done that doesn't require it.....get all of task a's done by 10am....no internet before exercise.....etc" - habits or games that you play with yourself with rewards. And those people who just go, go, go....unless they are going effectively - they are burning nervous energy and making work for themselves and everyone around them.

When I was in the work force, especially Nursing i was totally focused and organized, but retired....I am a disgrace. Or just getting old...LOL Don't be too hard on yourself. The body has to relax sometimes and surfing the net can make time fly by.

I'm always a go, go type. I'll even look for extra things to do. But in the past I have
been stressed at work with the constant non-stop attitude and having high standards
for the people that work below me.

A very interesting post! One could ask, of course - 'why manage free time'? Isn't one of the aspect's of 'free time' that it need not be 'managed'? But upon closer inspection it isn't that simple...Your observation of the way in which we often seem to treat time as if it were a limitless commodity is also very apt...
