I suppose half a promise is all most ever get. Most promise too much for a start and as you say it is easier to believe than feel one has been deceived.

Haven't gotten there yet....my mom's 87 on the 16th and been widowed since she was 54....I guaranee you she'd take kisses over sleep any day.

I believed promises, once upon a time.

Eventually, I stopped blaming the promise-maker for being simply what he was, and understood that I was responsible for believing, when all the clues were there.
