I so wish I enjoyed gardening but have hated it since I was a little girl and Mama made me weed the gardens in East Texas....hot muggy, black dirt.  I never minded the worms and snakes I would find....I just always hated the feeling of sweat running down my neck and back and dirt under my fingernails.....and my hands get claustraphobic in gloves!  I know....hopeless!  But, I do SO love the results....especially in flowers.  Anyway, I have always believed the wisdom of Abe Lincoln's words, something like, 'Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.'  I think some folks realize that sooner than later.....but that nearly all begin to realize it with age.  And, I have no doubt that having a good and precious partner by your side has got to make the ride smoother regardless

I'm afraid so many people's lives do not work out the way their parents planned.  We do the best we can and trust the Lord for the rest.

I have always looked upon that as a most interesting concept, having the ability to travel back in time, be born again, and do it all over. However, I would only wish that if I could somehow retain the knowledge I've already amassed. There are several changes I would make! But, as we all know, that's simply impossible, so I will make due with the life I currently have . . .

Your Climate is certainly lovely, yet I love the challenge of living here. MInd you I admire the way people have babies and they survive. I would have been a wreck. LOL. The perfect love and promise of life eternal that Easter brings, surely does stay with us all year. Enjoy your gardening but take a chair to sit on and a bottle of water. We do.

I do believe many would envy your climate, Justi, but personally I love our Canadian winters. Maybe because I'm not the one doing the shovelling, so can just sit back and enjoy the beauty of it all. I agree with you - as we get older we find our place, and are happy to be there, no matter the knowledge that time is now limited.
