I let my dough mix in the bread machine, but take it out to let it rise then cook it in the oven. You're right, it doesn't have all those preservatives, so one needs to eat it quickly, or make a bread pudding!
Lovely for your son and wife to combine work and pleasure, and I guess the gnomes got fed up with the snow and sent it on my way...

I love the smell of fresh-baked bread! BTW, is that a glacier coming in your door?

I so miss making bread as it was as much for my spirit as our stomachs......but my arms just cannot do the stirring and then the kneading now. These days bread is too unhealthy to eat that often off a shelf or from a machine. So sorry about the snow....it's sure a good thing you two are such love bugs!

Warm on the inside, snow on the outside...
Maybe you could start some gardening in pots, inside?

Come Memorial Day spring will come to the North Country. Ever since I switched to
gluten free I don't get any digestive problems.

Hi Kabu
I liked the bit on Sir Wiley making reflux free bread for you. How sweet!

After a day of snow, the temperatures have warmed up for us. I am not sure, though, if the temperatures are going to start climbing or if winter will assert its force.
I hope that your son has a great time in Singapore.

I love bread! Unfortunately so does my stomach ... so I have been eating less and less of it. It's that blasted GMO wheat! I can't wait for that crap to be pulled from all markets and banned.

I think our bodies grow less resistant to the onslaughts of food
as we get older. I used to enjoy fresh bread, biscuits, etc... But whether it's gluten sensitivity or the genetic modifications the seed industry has developed, it makes me sick. I did so much enjoy your blog, (except for the new blizzard) and thinking about how wonderful your house must smell with all that yeasty bread baking... sigh. I can enjoy this with no dietary consequences...
