I remember a night, the first time I looked up and realized, I wasn't under
the stars... they are all around us, we are in the midst, we are among them.

I love looking at the stars, too. The world is constantly undergoing changes, but those stars keep on shining, one of the few constants.

It's been so dark, gray and cloudy over here lately, we haven't seen those stars in quite some time! But the wind? Yes, we've had plenty of wind! Too much, for our liking actually . . .

I miss the stars. Here in the middle of the continent there are so many
city lights, street lights, yard lights, so much of what I call light pollution, you're lucky
to see the big dipper or any other major constellation on a summer night. Usually only
a few major stars, maybe Venus or Mars, are out there. Yesterday I saw a special on
fish and game cops in Washington state, and one of the scenes was a night view of the
open range about 50 miles north of Seattle. A-mazing carpet of stars! Made me homesick
for the little shack in Salkum where I grew up. 50 miles from anywhere there are stars.
