Lovely to pop in from Australia and see you here. I am missing home....making the most of Summer without all the mosquitoes but looking forward to Winter Snows.

It is kind of like pioneering, remaking your own house,

Well one soon forgets and it is nice to think that all that hard work has paid off. Now all you have to do is write on Blogit to to pay for the renovation.

A joy to read you and thanks for helping me find you by reading me. I did the same here 12 years ago after my wife Joyce died and I bought an old place and rebuilt as did you. Cold here too but my wife now since 2007, Kabu, has worked with me to make this a real home. C'mon, a home isn't a home until the hand of a loving woman puts her hands into it as did Kabu.

I figured you were all done with the icky stuff. And though I hate winter, I agree there are moments when it's bearable, among them the things you mentioned, and driving in winter has never bothered me. But I like the world green...

Oh, and as to your comment  re knowledge vs faith - I shall get back to that, I promise, though not tonight...

I find it easier to warm up than it is to stay cool as well. The older I have gotten, the more I have appreciated winter.

That was a long renovation project there.

Your idea of winter bliss reads well, but when winter hits - esp. at my

age - it's icy underfoot, dangerous to older people whose balance is a bit off due to the BP meds, and although I do enjoy cozy couch time, I'm not as thrilled with the white stuff as I was when it was something to play in/with.  I love reading about your renovations, and it's nice to know you're writing about work that's now pretty much done. :)

For lunch at the Port Authority in New York, I had pumpkin soup at Au Bon Pain love.
