Yeah, the changes of the seasons can be hard sometimes, but you would think we'd be used to it by now. There are pros & cons to both the warmer weather and the cold. And I never go to anyone's house empty-handed. It's always good manners to bring something . . .

Why not take something unusual a small jar of snow,a frosted flower, a bears paw, and one of those little critters that you feed all summer. Do be sure to bring some small bottles of sunshine back. You will be back here again before we know it. Try not to get a tan, we don't want to feel envious.

Your trips sound like a lot of fun for you and for those you visit.  I'm sure that Wiley and Mr. Graysome love hearing all about it on your return.

Oh I do think you will have a good trip. We shall miss you but we do expect you to go away ever so often. Mr Wiley will keep us company until you return. Love to you.

Well, that sounds like a fab trip, especially at this time of year! Need anyone to carry your bags? If you do - I'm available, though I'd need to practice hanging upside down..And your doggie niece is very cute! If I were a dog, I'd be head over tail in love...

Like you, I like the timing of the long and short days of the year. To me, this time of the year makes the holiday season feel all the more cozy.

that puppy makes me laugh!

Cooper has always been more that a little happy to see me.  I used to play fetch games, and that one where I toss a ball up the stairs, and he catches it when it comes down--or goes and gets it!  Even if I mail them, he loves loves loves the little crocheted balls I make, filled with plastic grocery bags. Last Christmas I sent enough for all the dogs, and he stole them all, put them in his bed, and rolled in them!

That must be quite a contrast - going from the long snowy nights to

the bright warm evenings. It seems a bit magical.
