I'm sure its' working well right now, while it's still reasonably warm - but what happens when it get's really cold and the snow in the snow room won't melt any longer and the nice squishy mud in the mud room is gonna freeze solid - what then?

I imagine in the extremes of heat and cold, that snow room will buffer
some of the weather and your inner rooms will be much cozier... hot soup sounds good.

Well the snow room is jolly nice I would like one into my porch perhaps I can fix a sheet of plastic over the door or a piece of tarpaulin. I'll let you admire it when it is finished.
