Re: Justi

I did "drive" by once after you sent me something with your return address on it, but apparently no one was home.

I don't think I've ever tried Google Earth, but I also don't think I would ever have the time to experiment with it either, although it does sound interesting. And yes, your ability to be able to zoom that far in to see a specific person does sound Orwellian . . .

If you come by my house drop in and sit a bit.

Now that is a pleasant way to do something instead of chores.

TAPS

I tried it a few times but found it an irritating device really, stressful to use, just age for me I guess.

Well Taps a blurred picture of me stands inside my garden . I remember when the camera or whatever came by. Of course one has to know the address and sometimes one can only see the front of the premises.

Google Earth is a lot of fun. For a time, one could see Dad's truck at Location A.

Re: Nautikos

No.  You are right.  It is just that if you are familiar with a person, there is enough left to recognize in posture, mannerisms, what is not blurred, especially if the picture is of a house you are very familiar with, and the person is where they always used to be.  Here is a picture of blurred faces in Manhattan.  If I really knew any of those people, I don't think I would have any trouble recognizing them.Google Street View now blurs some faces in Manhattan.

TAPS

LOL! I've been travelling around quite a bit with Google Earth and have seen many familiar houses, including my own - though I have never seen a familiar face...I was under the impression they blurred faces and licence plates, but I guess they simply forgot in Patsy's case...

Well, that sounds like quite a trip - old neighborhood now and also then.

I had no idea Google Earth was so much fun.
