A fine job they did with the restoration, too! What a grand surprise for you. It's good to be reading you again. Love to you and Wiley. sam

Yes a bit of history Kabu. A little bit of sadness as well. My old great aunt used to have a real big knife it made me think of it, more like a chopper. She used it to cut the bread, but I think it was for dissecting animals as the family were were Butchers previously.

Interesting. And you're probably right. Everything sounded 'fresh' and 'healthy' until you mentioned that DDT . . .

Amazing what an impact some artifact like that can have on your day...

I found a knife like that around this place, some former owner had picked it up from somewhere, and I wondered what it was for. And it's funny how thinking back to the childhood years of hard work and deprivation we feel so blessed...

Such an important piece of memorabilia. I think that was such a sweet thing to do. I know you had some moments regarding the whole thing.

Kabu

It's nice when some family traditions are kept alive, and that knife may well last for generations hence! Which brings me to an important question - which forbear has been riding your broom?

It is looking new there. I never would have guessed its age.
