I can only say that you may always find people who will misquote scriptures and justify any wrong they commit to prove they are right like lawyers quoting and interpreting statutes and decisions to prove their case but it isn't all fact that they speak.
Since I am not out to prove any point except that wrong is wrong whether done in the name of Holy Bible Quran or Torah.
I have said God doesn't like bloodshed I have not said Muslims don't like bloodshed. No ideology or religion can be perfect because there has been human intermingling in spreading it so there is bound to be some mistakes and error in propagating or preaching.
I think You can talk to one scholar who is worldwide known for debating with other scholars to prove that Islam is the best and most accurate religion for that matter you can best get in touch with him. His name is Dr. Zakir Naik . You can google his name and find out where you can meet him to debate over issues you are calling me to discuss and debate as he is one out to prove he has absolute knowledge and memory to prove his points from Holy Quran and other revealed books, I am not.
You need to talk to people who claim they are expert in theology. Your concern should not be which religion is preaching what but your concern should be who is doing what. Any act of Barbarism committed by anybody is bad and ought to be condemned. Any innocent lives taken is wrong. There are several portions of Holy Quran that condemns cruelty injustice and aggression and has very clearly stated that crime against individual is crime against humanity which you have deliberately suppressed to mention just to prove your point.
I would like to invite others as well who are following our debate to go through the Holy Quran as it's universal and available on internet and decide for themselves whether the book is wrong or followers of the book are misinterpreting and those who are against are also misinterpreting.
Please be fair in your approach and not subjective. I think every religion is good and God gave every nation a leader to be followed and the Holy Quran does recognise it.
I would only request you to read Surah Alkafiroon (109) where Prophet Muhammad has been asked by Almighty Allah to let others believe what they like and keep out of conflict. There are several important and beautiful Surahs to be read and understood as a beacon of knowledge and learning.
God bless you my friend.

When it comes to violence or love, I'll take the latter. It seems to me the Christian Jesus preached love for all, where Islam's Allah, on the other hand, chooses who to love and why.

I was not much of a debater Naut. I have a tendency to to forget it is academic ability ...what to rebut with and in a few words... and then get one's own points across in the allotted time...I am very good at wanting to win...LOL...and can think of such clever retorts ...after it is all over...what a sad bunch we are for you here...but of course any grumbling from you...WILL bring out the broom!!!

I can't imagine there ever being a tangential excursion sustained long enough for you to forget the question you posed to anyone. You are a bull dog when it comes to debating.
