You think you have nothing interesting to say? I think this is a very interesting post right here, with observations that are making me think and reflect on many things, too many to get into here...

Re: Kabu
george is right of course...in the sixties we were young and people listened...now who cares what I have to say and anyway one gets sore feet just walking to the venue to listen on a hard seat to some young kid who believes they have at last discovered all the answers. No generation before them ever got it right like thye have,,,boy as time goes by, are they in for a shock!!!!

'Old age' is nothing more than a combination of the years we've lived on this Earth and the experiences we've lived through. Things change, we adapt, and do what we have to do. My wife and I are the same way. Let's see what we can salvage and re-use. We do our best not to feed the landfills . . .

Maybe it's the way it is supposed to be, Justi. You have done so much already - time to take a little R & R.

I think George is a lot like you are saying. He is seeing some of this played out so that he is taking better care of himself than I did. He also has a lighter attitude about most things than I, not that he cares less, he just knows when the line has arrived that he can no longer do anything.

I think it is a season in life, but nobody told me it would be this way and I am not enjoying it one bit. The pain is heavy, persistent and from no known cause except fybromyalgia and Type II Diabetes. I am very tired of such. I am sorry to hear you are experiencing the same. Love you both.

from a life time of giving I think it is a time to take care of you.
I am full of ideas and plans but I understand Wiley and love makes me content with just being here and doing what we do here everyday. It is time for Wiley to sit back though...he worked too hard this Summer.
We do love you both, we do love whatever you write...and yes, as I posted yesteday, sometimes I am glad that my days of getting involved and passionate about the world are behind me.

You just wrote how I am now too and I think I'm older at 78. This is the first day I have felt really 'well' for 24 hours. I too have lost interest in most things and just can't seem to post a good blog anymore. I can read a good book again most days, but then others I can't even do that. My body hurts so much that I have had to simply quit 'doing' for a bit. We seldom hear from anybody like offspring so we seldom feel like contacting them. Friends have dwindled down to 0 mostly, and now we are used to that because older friends just aren't worth the trouble anymore in real life. Thank God for Blogit, you and George and others in our Blogit family. Love to you both.

Thank you that was a most encouraging comment. I think you are right I may need to give myself a rest. I think of all you do which is hard work and i am amazed. I too am bored at fashion these days. It is as if women were attempting make men deaf, dumb and blind there is nothing left to the imagination it is all hanging out. A good sized group of women could produce enough tattoo ink to fill a swimming pool it appears. Everything detracts from the pretty faces.

No I think we do get bored with some things Justi. I get bored with the paper showing pages of women's fashion, it might be suitable to walk up the high street and back, but it all looks so uncomfortable. I think the secret is to try to do little things that one really likes doing, try and give yourself a little treat at times. It is hard work helping others as I know you do. No one can do what they did twenty years ago although it only seems like yesterday. I think you are pretty normal and are more motivated than a lot who are far younger than you are

Maybe
It's just time to take care of yourself instead of catering to others so much. You give so much of yourself to so many, that I suspect you are just tired.
I've become much more of a homebody again. I have a home that I love and while I love entertaining, given there is such little time when the man in my life is gone 5 days a week, that I get selfish with time. During the week, I am dealing with the needs of others, friends, family, work, etc... that sometimes I just need to take a hot bath and curl up with a good book.
