That's one of those situations where, you hate being in the middle of it, but months later, after the 'dust' has settled, you love that feeling of accomplishment, and how nice everything looks. I guess you're not quite there yet . . .

Proper determined housekeeping needs a good soundtrack.
I used to play the Basil Polidouris soundtrack from CONAN THE BARBARIAN. Excellent houekeeping music! The theme from PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN is good, too.

In order to motivate myself to do housework - which I loathe - I used to
pretend I was the maid, and since the lady was to return in an hour, I had to git 'er done. Then, once the broom, etc., had done its thing and been tucked away, I'd take on the role of the lady, and treat the maid to a nice cup of coffee or a trip to the bakery...

You don't do house wifey? Hell, even I do house wifey - I cook, I gossip with the neighbours on one side about the neighbours on the other side and vice versa, I have plans for going to Bingo night, and once a week I go through my purse to see what I can discover there...
