Good idea. Turn off the TV, close the newspaper, and do something with your hands. We have to keep abreast of current events of course, but not to the point where it becomes overly upsetting. Life's too short . . .

I'd rather spend my time looking out at the birds than I would looking at TV. I mute advertisements and surf continuously or just turn it off and read.

This is a lovely post and it is good to get updates on how you are and what youe day is like.
We don't go out much especially in the Winter and so that is why I am guessing that everyone knows the gnomes and the animals and the garden here so well. It is just delightful to stay in touch.
