Nor would I, Jimmy - thanks for your thoughts (and all ice cream is definitely good!).. as for cars, personally I don't think you can go wrong with a good reliable Ford:) Happy hunting x

Thank you Taps:) not looking for 'perfect,' of course - and if you could see my house at the moment it's very far from that..smile. Frustrating that I can't make much comment at his place, nor tidy up the way I'd like to, but we're happy enough most of the time.

Sweet of you to say so Kabu (((hugs))).... unfortunately the new car probably won't make any difference... he's never out of the house for more than a few hours. Currently it's school holidays so he is at a loose end even more, and he just likes to be indoors watching all the summer sport.
I never read Rebecca, but I think I saw some of it on TV once:) I'll bear it in mind!

The way I see it is that with reliable wheels, perhaps he may be out of the house more and more...Just be yourself. dear. You are a really special person just the way you are and of course you are different to his last wife...you are you and he is so lucky. Did you ever read Rebeca by Daphne du Marier...seconf wife turned out to be the true love of his life!!

One should never try to 'replace' someone, or even step into their shoes, when it comes to relationships ( just my opinion ). Of course you should just be yourself, and let the chips fall where they may. Everyone, and their circumstances, are different. Some people like chocolate, some people like strawberry, and some people like vanilla. But ya know what? It's all good ice cream! 
My wife and I will be in the market for a new car soon as well, and right now, we're completely lost as to which direction to take! Hopefully before the end of the year . . .
