It it safe to eat the produce afterwards? Archie can't get rid of blackfly on his beans,

 he sprays them with nasty stuff and I would not want to eat them. Just a bit of advice from a Gnome Doctor don't spray the Gnomes, or you might have to repaint their Winter outfits. Cunning little blighters might be after new gear.

Table salt will kill slugs. Mama used to buy ladybugs from the catalog

and release them on her roses to eat the aphids.

Grandmummy, if ever you have a problem with slugs in your garden, pour some of the cola into the soil round your flowers and plants.  They'll bother you no more.
