Praise the Lord. I am so glad that is finished. I am sorry things were damaged; however, I am sure the Insurance will cover all that. Of course the trouble and aggravation of reinstalling it all may not be covered. Let it go now and cool out. That kind of problem can be very wearing on one. Love you both.

Good news! Great to see a problem solved.
But look what came out of it. You channelled Dr. Seuss, made a story out of your mishap, and overcame adversity! I love the thought of finding opals in the basement as Ciel mentioned. Crossing my fingers your insurance covers all expenses...

Damn but it's so difficult and frustrating to get good service now...it seems from any company! I am happy to hear things have been taken care of and all is back to normal (Atta boy, Wiley!), but it's such a pain to have to deal with the aggravation. I'd be having a nice warm bath now to de-stress....

Water heaters are like that...
Had the same issue once, years back, and the whole cheap floor sagged between the joists. It got replaced with plywood. It is now the sturdiest feature in the house.
If you had a basement in Australia, it would probably have had opals in it.
