I love Mountains and often think of my dear friend Ceil sitting there sipping a morning brew and watching the colors as the sun rises and sets on those Mountains.

Lovely to hear someone describing the beauty of the mountains. I feel I might be overawed by such magnificence or wonder it the volcano might give a cough or two.

Do you ever wonder how the world holds up with all this weight upon it.

You are lucky to have such a lovely view.I too enjoy the view from almost all the windows of my terrace flat overlooking the Hooghly river and the famous Howrah Bridge.

St. Helens looked gorgeous in the morning sun, too. She also had

snow year round until 1980 when she blew. I grew up in the foothills along Hwy 12, which led through White Pass, the almost all-weather pass through the Cascades to eastern Washington's desert country. I was in Illinois when St. Helens erupted, and quite a bit of the state between Lewis County and the Columbia River that flows between Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR looked very different the next time I went home. She's not as voluptuous now, but your reminder about Pike's Peak and Rainier has me homesick for those forests and curving mountain roads. You paint a gorgeous word picture.

Ciel

I wonder if you could watch the famous Hill Climb from the comfort of your patio, using strong binoculars, of course...
