Hi Naut.. unfortunately he has mental health problems... but the time has come for things to change. With another family holiday coming up soon, I have only one wish - two bathrooms!!!! LOL

Re:
Hmm.. I wonder. Don't want NOT to be with him... a few changes, patience... encourage independence in his son - all in the fulness of time.

Aside from whatever else ails him, that 'kid' (he's got to be in his late twenties or early thirties) appears to be a spoiled brat, which does not at all bode well for the future...

This does make me sad....I think the wife has become his saint....No one can tell you what to do. You have choices of course...
Leave and live alone and wait for your children to remember you when it suits them. Make a life around your house and the people who live close by...write more in Blogit and converse with your firends here
or.... Stay and accept that himself has very little to offer anyone. His Son and the dead wife are first in his heart and always will be. If you leave he will want you back with all sorts of promises because he has need of a woman and part of him obviously does care for you.
Only you can decidde love but I promise that I am a friend here for you.

Hopefully, you will find that you fit into things wonderfully...It can be very tough when one of the people in a relationship of any kind is trying to get over someone's death.
