Croft-

Thanks for the comments. I do want to make one thing clear, though, in case you think differently. I LOVE wolves. I could sing their praises all day. Yes, it was unusual for this wolf to become so agressive, but as I said in my blog, he was physically sick. Not only that, but he was scared, intimidated, and most likely didn't like the feeling of being "cornered". He didn't know we were there to help him. Also, it has been established that wolves are in fact canines. Additionally, as I said in my blog, wolves are not pets; they are wild animals, and yes, some are content with humans. I've been working in the vet field for 14 years and I obviously love animals, but to this day and beyond, I will still stand behind my belief that any animal (especially sick, injured, or intimidated) can become agressive.

Wolf Missconceptions
You know I just shot a story on wolves. It is very unusual for wolves to behave in that manner. I was in an area with over 15 wolves. One was a gray wolf puppy that probably weighed 180-200 lbs. He was playing and had his mouth around my camera, my legs, my arms and my neck, but he was very aware of the amount of pressure he was applying. Wolves are very shy creatures usually shunning man. They are not dogs. They are very intellligent and independant animals. The live in packs and have a very high social culture. They don't just attack people or other animals for that matter. Yours is the first case I have ever heard of where a wolf attacked a person. It is rare indeed. They are wonderful creatures and bond with people as equals. They are not pets, they are companions. I am sorry that you are afraid of these wonderful creatures as there really is no need to be. I have been in many different situations with wolves both in the wild and in captivity and have found them to be the most intelligent if not gentle and friendly creatures.

Ariala-
I'm sure my words couldn't even describe the terror I felt! I've been faced with many scary situations at work, but I'm trained to know how to handle them. Wolves? Uh, a big N-O right there! I'm not the crocadile hunter!
