You're very welcome, Carolyn. With everything else that's going on out there today . . .

Re:

I thought so too, Jemmie. It's the kind we need to hear once in a while . . .

Re:

I'm not exactly sure, adnohr, if people want to hear those 'bad' things, other than to try to keep informed as to what is going on around them. As far as some of those journalists are concerned, yes, they seem to thrive on bad news, and God knows there's plenty of that to go around! Perhaps these 'feel good' stories are bones they toss to us from time to time so we all don't give up on each other completely. I truly hope that's not the case, of course, but the world does seem sometimes to focus more on the negative than the positive . . .

Re:

You're quite welcome, Annicita. It's nice to read something like this for a change, isn't it? If nothing else, perhaps others may learn from this man's honesty and integrity . . .

Re:

I think I might too, TAPS! But it is better that he returned it. I've always believed in a 'balance of the cosmos,' and I'm fairly sure something bad would happen to one if they were to keep such findings. So, has he found any more envelopes stuffed with money yet . . . ?

Re:

Thank you, FSI. It's nice to read such stories once in a while, isn't it? It's just too bad there doesn't seem to be many more of them . . .

Re: JimmyA

Thanks, Sir Wiley. Although their numbers may be dwindling, I suppose this proves that there are still some decent folks out there . . .

Re:

I'm not sure, C C T. Honesty is supposed to be its own reward, and I think it should be up to the person who lost the money as to what kind of reward the finder should receive, if any. Unless the recipient was overly forceful, I think I might have a tough time accepting any monetary reward as well. And it may prove difficult to enforce such a law, especially if the 'find' was far less substantial . . .

Re: Jimmy

Mine too, Naut. Kudos to this gentleman for showing the rest of the world 'how it's done' . . .

It is mostly good things that are happenng around us, Jimmy. The problem is that the bad things (approximately 9% of total events) is what people seem to want to hear, and the journalists accommodate us....

My niece's husband recently found $360 in an envelope in the bushes in his own yard.  The envelope had the name of a man who lived a few houses down.  As much as he would liked to have had it, he took it to the rightful owner.  But niece says that now he spends a lot of time beating around the bush hoping for more.

He is, indeed, "a shining example of integrity." That is so wonderful that he returned the money. A heartwarming story you found there, Jimmy.

I remember a mate found thousands in a newspaper his wife said keep it but he took it to the police station two men reclaimed it and never said thank you. His wife's blessing was enough. I think it should be law to give 10 percent as a reward for returning lost money. What go you think Jimmy?

What a great story! Yes, there are still good, honest people in this world! And my best wishes go out to Mr. Panuil...
