Lovely work Kabu, goodness a true labour of love, I suppose she was the good girl in the family. Why do they all love the little rascal? Tell Wiley to use strong glue a chest of drawers I made keeps trying to slide apart.

Such beautiful lace, so delicate, so intricate. Where does one get the patience for such.
Nephew Caleb enjoyed his first Australia Day in Melbourne with fireworks display and food (of course) and some kind of rowing. He's been there for almost a year, and he is missing home. Tells his mom (Sis) that he is not going to renew his contract when this one is up because he is missing Baltimore and friends.

Kabu,
just caught the tail end of The Boys Are Back a movie filmed entirely on location in South Australia. Such beautiful scenery it made me homesick for you and here you are having an Aussie celebration today. So glad John Wiley is feeling better and glad you got over the blues. Sundays can get that way or so me thinks! God bless. Thoughts of you two up there in the cold white North!

Beautiful work. I remember my mother doing all sorts of hand work but not me. I could sew by the time I started school but no fancy hand work. I am glad the day turned up and both of you had a fun day. Food sounds wonderful. Love to your family from ours!

My mother did a crocheted tablecloth that won a blue ribbon...
Your sister's bobbin lace is perfection! One auntie used to do it, gee it's been 60 years ago now. They put handmade lace on pillow cases in those days, and I've still got some embroidered dishtowels Mom made out of flour sacks. I suppose they're antiques or artifacts by now, but I still use them.

Congrats to Sis! And you can hardly sew a seam? Don't worry - neither can I...And it's good to see Wiley building things again...

I remember watching my mother sit and crochet for hours on end, she made such beautiful things, but she never entered anything in the fair. One can almost feel the relief in your words now that Wiley up and at-em.
