Kabu, so sorry to hear of the servicemen in your country committing suicide
will keep their friends and family in my prayers. i happened to be alone for the first time on thanksgiving and hadn't given it much thought only to come home from having a feast up at the nursing home to an empty apt and the walls closing in and oodles of pills nearby. i freaked and got a sheriff's escort to the nearest mental health unit where thru the near proximity of others i was able to snap out of it and realize so many are worse of than i. i began getting really bad dreams and i repented of even thinking of committing suicide and the dreams went away. most of them are now sweet once again. thanks for the encouraging post. i've thought of blogit in my abscence and hope i can be a more encouraging member this time around. you go girl.

everyone needs support during this season and I remember
the first Christmas after my divorce and Blake and Brooke had to go to their Dad's for Christmas Eve and wouldn't be home to wake up to Santa on Christmas morning. It was so hard but I had it all ready for them when they got home later that day. I was truly starting over at the time. Our living room only had a mattress on the floor, a Christmas tree and a tv but we had one of the best days when they got home.

A great way to begin your post, and I couldn't agree more. The 'Christmas Spirit' is not to be found in a department store! It comes from the heart! And I'm sure our friend Naut will give everyone enough room for their own personal viewing . . .

I love Christmas and being merry...It is the snow and the cold I despise, San Diego is the place for me...Great post Kabu, though I am just a little worried about Naut and his blond girlfriend.

I get your drift Kabu, sadly Christmas is the loneliest time for many oldies. They cannot even go out and walk around the shops. Never mind it is soon over and we can go back to being our grumpy old selves again , Humbug I say!

I think Charlie D. was right, times are the best and worst,
and as my wise friend Kabu says, it's what we make it. Let's keep it bright and cheerful for all our Blogit friends - and for ourselves, too. New diet I heard about yesterday: one ounce of dark chocolate and a nice 2-4 Oz. glass of red wine daily. You'll mysteriously lose weight, or if not, you'll be okay with that.

Kabu
I like your sentiments and endorse them heartily! And I also like that young temptress at the bottom - I am tempted to leave my gorgeous blonde girlfriend for her...
