I hadn't thought about it but of course it would be necessary.

Re: JimmyA

People are often surprised at how much business there is during freezing and below freezing temperatures. The precautions more than pay for themselves. Certainly, there are times when it is best to close parts of or all of each car wash. Those situations are better suited to be addressed as a blog entry.

The question you have is a great one. On Dad's end, there are things in place that make washing one's car safe (i.e. the precautions). As far as being out in the elements goes, I feel that varies from person to person and situation to situation. With automatic washes as well, many people never leave their vehicle. Therefore, those who do not want to or who cannot handle being outside can do so.

Sounds a bit precarious FS, but I am sure you know how to cope

It would seem to me that if the outside temperature is so cold that you have to take such precautions, there may not be a whole heck of a lot of business anyway! Isn't it somewhat dangerous to wash cars in such extreme temperatures . . . ?

Floor heat sounds good.  Actually it sounds like it would be good in houses in the cold winter.
