Re:

You're absolutely right, Justi, on all counts. Yes, I was just trying to have a bit of fun, leading people in one direction, and then trying to pull the rug out from under them! But at the same time, many people by now know me enough to realize that I would never, ever do anything like that to my wife, who I love more than anything in the universe! Besides, like I told Annicita, if I were ever to do something so hurtful, so heinous, and so stupid, I would never bother to post it as a blog! No, the trash will remain outside, while me, my wonderful wife, and our adoring cat(s) remain inside . . .

I love this. I knew where you were going only because I knew you guys had cats. I know as much as you love your wife you would not dare. Now the straw that broke the back you are a decent man and you would never bring your trash into the house. haha.

Re:

Thanks, Annicita. Did it at least sound somewhat legitimate at first? Not really, huh? Well, I guess there are two factors to consider. First, I would never, ever, ever even consider doing anything even remotely like that to my wife, under any circumstances! And secondly, if I were ever stupid enough to do anything like that, I certainly wouldn't post it as a blog . . .

Re: Ha!

Thanks, WhiteHat. I was hoping to try to fool a few people, keep them "on the hook," so to speak! Believe me, if the "mistress" had been anything or anybody other than one of our cats, there would probably be a rolling pin sticking out of my ear right about now . . .

Re:

Believe it or not, C C T, we actually have a couple of cats who not only don't mind the occasional belly rub, but actually look forward to it! As you've said, most don't. But these knuckleheads do! And my wife would probably never become so enraged that I would ever have to be forced to sleep in a tiny bed with any of our cats, fleas or no fleas! At least, I don't think she would . . .

Re:

Oh, yes, lustor. She is very understanding. She was a little jealous at first, partly because of all the attention the cat was getting, and partly because of all the attention I was getting! So, to maintain the peace, the cat sleeps between us each night. "Sharing" . . .

Re: Yep, I knew it!

You're absolutely right, Jemmie. After a long tough day in the "rat race," there's nothing like settling in and snuggling up with my wife, and at least one of our cats! My wife has had many cats in her lifetime, and she too remembers each and every one fondly. In fact, she has a "wall of fame" which features at least one photo of every cat she has ever owned. Gone, but never forgotten . . .

Re:

I'm sure you do, Utah. I've yet to come across anybody here in Blog-it who would admit to disliking any animal for any reason. Sometimes animals are better than people, as I'm sure you will agree . . .

Re:

As do I, FSI. And it actually doesn't really matter whether you're a dog owner/lover or a cat owner/lover. I think every pet owner spoils their little critters to some degree, and that's probably the way it should be . . .

Re:

I believe I will, Kabu! Yes, it is a balanced love affair in our home concerning our cats. We love all of our cats equally of course, but when it comes to settling down on the bed or couch, the boys gravitate to my wife, and the girls gravitate to me! Of course, they have to get past Riki, my mistress, first! Not an easy task . . .

Re: Jimmy

Really, Naut? I didn't fool you for a second, did I? Well, no dogs, rabbits or hamsters; just one very special . . . and lucky . . . cat!

Well all I can say Jimmy is I were your poor wife . I would say sleep with the cat. I'll order a nice single bed and I hope you get fleas. There again I would not make a very good wife. Hint don't rub her tummy they seem to hate a tummy rub.

how lucky you are to have a undestanding wife

posted by Lanetay on November 16, 2013 at 7:17 AM | link to this | reply

Yep, I knew it!

It had to be a cat! Green eyes . . . . her purr . . . . how she stole your heart . . . . only a cat!

Yep . . . I have had many, and every single one, whether here or gone, still has my heart.

There is almost nothing better than snuggling with a cat, and hearing its purr in your ear as it gently "massages" your flesh with its claws in utter contentment.

That was very clever....I know a lot of people who love their cats.

A lovely read and at least it is a male female affair. Mr. Graysome has always been more in love with Wiley than me even if I am his Mummy and spoil him raotten and he was a gift from Wiley to me...but as you say...love is strange sometimes and cannot be denied. Enjoy!!

LOL! I was wondering from the beginning whether the denouement would involve a dog, a cat, a rabbit or a hamster...
